Art Photos People Pictures of the Karamajong & West Nile Uganda 1989. This Uganda people photo series was taken on a trip in 1989 to Karamoja and West Nile with the help of the Lutheran World Federation Relief Program. At the time there would have been no other way of visiting the Karamajong. At the time Karamoja was largely un policed and the Karamajong were heavily armed.
I saw many sad things on this trip but was struck by the dignity and friendship of the people. I thank them all for their hospitality when they had so little to share. Black & white art photos by Photographer Paul E Williams
