Pál Kinizsi (1432-1494) was a Hungarian legendary general commander in the army of king Matthias Corvinus. In 1484 he was Captain General of the Lower Parts of the Kingdom of Hungary. He is famous for his victory over the Ottomans in the Battle of Breadfield in October 1479.
The 14th-century fortification donated by Matthias I to Pál Kinizsi. The castle became known as Kinizsi vár (castle) and is situated in Nagyvázsony village in Veszprém, Hungary.
It has a large keep tower which is surrounded by the castles buildings. It has an outer curtain wall and is entered via a bastion tower.
