Facades tourist places art photo – The Faded Beauty of the Old Shop Fronts of Koszeg
I first visited Hungary in the late 1990’s to direct TV commercials. This led to a long love affair with Hungary which also ended up with me loving and living with a Hungarian partner for 15 years. Hungary had long been independent from the USSR and it looked very alien to western European eyes. This made it very exciting from my point of view.
I hate travelling to places that looked like a western clone with brig brand signs everywhere. In 2007 Koszeg was starting to smarten itself up so I was lucky to photograph the faded beauty of old run down shop fronts before they were all modernised. photo art prints by photographer Paul E Williams
