E award Western said that a nude photo where the subjects face was visible, is a portrait not a body study. I agree with him and think that faces detract completely when exploring the human form. Even though this series is entitled The Muses I have tried to avoid any classical poses and gestures in the photos. In The Muses I explore with the model gestures that are both aggressive and not the norm in female nude photos. I used a model who was well versed with the page 3 tabloid approach to depicting women. This was a conscious decision as I knew she could avoid cliche poses and we could explore new territory. I hope you find the photos interesting.
