Polaroid Art Photos taken 1989-1991 by photographer Paul E Williams. Solaroid is a technique of polarising the backing of Polaroid 803 discovered by Paul E Williams. Next the latent image on the polaroid backing was copied onto 5×4 film. Finally this was used as a negative to print from. This technique was used to make the photo on the album cover and tour posters, for Dire Straits On Evert Street Album. Buy photo art prints from this series.
“I was experimenting with 10×8 Polaroid 803 film and as a result I noticed I could solarise the backing. I became intrigued by the latent image that slowly disappeared under a crystal surge. Next I worked out a way of copying the image to make a negative. Finally I could make Solaroid prints. As a result of the crystal surface of the polaroid the technique best suited abstract subjects I hope you enjoy these intriguing abstract photos which I show here for the first time here”.
